Hella Crabz Mini Snare 8oz/12oz

Need to cast further away and heavy current isn’t an issue? Then this snare is for you! It’s also great for crab snaring beginners as it is simple to handle. Weighing in at either 8 to 12 ounces, this snare is easy to launch and it can hold its own in light currents. Loading bait is also quick and easy through my innovative loading plug located on the bottom of the snare. I recommend using this snare with at least 30lb rated line and when the current is calm to light.

-Plug is made with fitted flexible silicone rubber and fits snuggly to the bottom of the snare. (Update 11/02/2024-All plugs are now a fitted rubberized silicone material, as opposed to the previous hard plastic connected plug)

-Cage is strong and made with 16 gauge vinyl coated galvanized steel, allowing it to withstand harsh water environments.

-14” Loops are made with high quality hard nylon leader line. Loops are strategically positioned around the snare to ensure a high probability catch rate. When the loops begin losing their shape and tension due to heavy use in salt water, thoroughly clean the snare with fresh water and carefully stretch out loops manually by hand.

-Leader line is positioned at the center of the top of the snare, encouraging the snare to sink and sit properly at the bottom of the ocean floor.

-Lead is welded to the bottom of each snare, keeping it in place in light current so that crabs have an easier time tracking the bait.

-Always thoroughly wash your crab snares with fresh water after finishing using them for the day.  Salt water is very corrosive and can cause damage/rust to equipment if left on for extended periods of time.  All of my snares are lightly coated with at least two layers of oil-based enamel paint to help protect the snare from its environments and reduce direct contact with lead.
